The Professional Side

I am the founder of Prelude Financial, a firm dedicated to providing unbiased conflict free advice to help you create the life you envision for you and your family. I help my clients think through difficult financial tradeoffs to come up with solutions they can comfortably live with. I take pride in getting to know every detail of my client’s financial lives so that I can build a well thought out, carefully tailored plan to help accomplish their goals.

I graduated with honors from the University of Akron, majoring in personal finance with an emphasis in financial planning and a minor in economics. After working in the industry for a few years I become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) to further enhance the value I can bring to my clients.

The Personal Side

I grew up in Doylestown and enjoyed my earlier years working for my parents at Wadsworth Music. So if you or your children ever took music lessons you have probably met me at one point or another. Growing up with such a deep connection to my local community was truly a great experience, and gave me the opportunity to get to know many families in the area.

Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with my family, and love watching my two children grow. I try to spend as much time outdoors when the weather permits, fishing, backpacking, camping and most importantly being with my family.

The Professional Side

I joined Prelude Financial in 2019 as our first Financial Planning Intern.  I have always known that I wanted to help people in the best way possible, and I later on realized that I have a love for analyzing the financial side of society. So, I combined those facts and found Financial Planning.

I graduated from THE Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) in 2022 with a degree in Consumer and Family Financial Services.  Since graduating, I have continued my studies in pursuit of the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation, and I plan on sitting for my exam in the spring of 2024 (or earlier).

As a Financial Planning Analyst, I work with our clients in helping them to identify their financial goals and building plans to help guide them through their financial journey.

The Personal Side

I grew up right here in Wadsworth after my family moved her when I was two years old.  It is truly the only home I know, and the only home I need.  I am so glad to be back where all my family and most of my friends are.

When I’m not in the office, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, especially my little nephew who was born March 2023 (He’s so tiny!).  I also enjoy hiking, reading, and baking.  I almost always will have a cup of tea with me, and if you ever want recommendations I’m your girl.  You may see me around the Wadsworth square on most First Fridays, and if you please feel free to say Hi.

Does the thought of taking a vacation without making any preparations whatsoever cause anxiety and tension a little bit? When your travel plans are inefficient it could cost additional time as well as, other expenses. It is best to have a well thought out plan that will allow you to maximize the fun to be had once you've arrived! The same can be said about your approach to achieving your financial goals, particularly retirement. Mapping your route and knowing the direction you want to go, will give you the confidence to navigate the ups, the downs and any detours that life might throw your way.

Retirement Planning

What is a safe withdrawal rate for me?

Is there a tax efficient distribution method?

When should I claim social security benefits?

What survivor benefit should I claim for my pension?

Cash Flow Management

How can my spouse and I get on the same page with our savings goals?

What is the best way to reduce my debt to make life easier?

How much should I save each year?

Investment Analysis

Are my investments causing me to pay too much in taxes?

Am I comfortable with the amount of risk I am taking?

Do I want my investments to reflect my personal beliefs, and is it even important?

Risk Management & Insurance Planning

What type of insurance is appropriate?

Do I have the right amount of insurance to protect my family?

What happens if I loose my job?

Debt Management

What debts should I payoff first?

What debts should I keep?

How can I improve my credit in the process?

Tax Planning

How do I reduce my tax burden?

How can I simplify my taxes so it's easier to file?

Is there opportunity to decrease my future tax bracket?

Education Planning

Should I use a 529 plan for savings?

What amount can I afford to help my kids with college?

Estate Planning

Do I have the right documents in place?

Do I need to protect my assets using a trust?

What if I end up in a nursing home for an extended time?

Investment management is an important part of any long-term financial plan. As part of your investment plan, however, it’s important to identify your comfort level regarding risk, time horizon, periodic income needs, and short vs. long-term goals. In addition, you should be aware of any tax consequences associated with making changes to your investment portfolio.

Our goal is to understand your situation and develop a diversified portfolio consisting of low cost mutual funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs). We do not believe investors can “time the market” and rely on a due diligence process to regularly monitor funds and make changes when necessary.

How we Diversify Ourselves

Socially responsible investing (SRI) is an investing strategy that aims to generate both social change and financial returns for an investor. Socially responsible investments can include companies making a positive sustainable or social impact, such as a solar energy company, and exclude those making a negative impact.

Digital Currencies

Digital currencies such as Bitcoin appear to be carving a path for themselves. Given the growth and development shown over the last decade, we believe this asset class is here to stay.

Based on the changes we have seen over the last decade, we believe it would be a disservice to our clients not to research new technologies ranging from electric vehicles to gene therapies.

While their is no one size fits all solution to investing, we believe that these are key areas that most investors want their financial advisor to be knowledgeable on, and able to make suitable recommendations for.
